Kim is on a one year deal, coming off an injury and is Boras client. Dubon can be an everyday SS and a swing man. He can also serve as a bridge until one of the 2025 dart SSs has shown he is ready. I think in today’s crazy salary atmosphere he is worth signing-and no PED history.
For me the answer is: at what price? Most folks believe there will be a lock out next season. What does the new CBA look like? Dubon will be cheaper to re-sign that Kim. So, there's that. Could Jarvis be ready to play SS every day next season if Gill isn't quite ready yet? Lot's of moving parts, as there always are in these things, but yes, I'd extend Dubon... at the right price.
I believe it would be smart to sign Dubon to an extension. The 2 years at $18M with a club option for a 3rd year at $10M sounds about right. His bat is going to drop off some but his elite defense for all the positions he can play makes the deal worthwhile.
Good assessment of the issue. Dubon's bat has clearly been a sweet surprise so far. One question: What's with his tendency to suddenly back out of the batter's box even before the pitch has gotten close to the plate - and this has occurred on pitches that were not inside.
Stating the very obvious: Dubon’s quality and versatility are critical in today’s game and worth paying for. Looking forward to the notes on Jarvis. An unanswered question is do the Braves have an internal option at shortstop for the ‘26 season? Plenty of time to figure this out. But signing Dubon would increase the likelihood and reduce the risk of relying on a SS internal option. And as we saw, signing FA shortstops are very expensive. If Braves can get 2 years of Dubon for less than one year of a league average FA SS, then sign him.

Dylan Lee needs one of these Anthopoulogy analysis as well.
How he’s able to be so successful?
I trust that you'll have that answer for us. But he needs a blue box.
Dubon is the feel-good story for the Braves. Hope they can keep him.
Jim Jarvis, another shortstop, (Gwinett) is the feel-good story of the minors !!! At 25 years old.
Everybody thinks Braves take a College bat at #9. But Braves have a love affair with College Arms.
Watch for College Arms that have value and are available #9.
I have something on Jarvis coming soon, yeah

Perhaps...trade Kim. use some money for dubon and Keep Meteo as an infield utility man.
I'm not so sure about that...at this point, Mateo is hitting .467 with a wRC+ of 168.
His career numbers are .224 and 73. So, the regression monster is coming for him...

Sorry, meant the SS question for ‘27, not ‘26.
