Will be interesting to see how a catcher combo covers DH if that’s what Braves use next season. Braves are in good shape behind the plate. Just for kicks, 2025 rankings (fWAR / wRC+ / age). Langeliers - 3.9 / 132 / 27; Contrares - 3.6 / 124 / 27); Baldwin - 3.1 / 125 / 24; Murphy - 2.0 / 97 / 31. A lot of quality catchers in the organization in the last few years.

Welcome back, Lindsay.

Regarding catchers, Baldwin certainly was one of the few bright spots this year. Watching the playoffs, we're constantly reminded of what we had and gave up in Contreras. Would I rather have Contreras than Baldwin? Don't know - but certainly I'd rather have Contreras than Murphy. Murphy has been good behind the plate but I'm concerned that next year he will again struggle to hit above .200.

Is there any stat service that rates, tabulates, and compares front office performance/decisions over time? Seems like an interesting and useful analysis. My bet is AA et al would not stack up as well as some of their press clippings.

I was hoping the Braves might get the Tar Heel catcher Stephenson in the 1st round last year. But the Braves passed on him.

Great catch and throw and Big time Power lefthanded bat. A small concern about about his contact skills. Only hit about

.257 for the Tar Heels

He was tremendous when he played after the draft, per Baseball America. The 2nd best performance of all the First Rounders.
