As to your footnote 1, it would be funny if the Braves president said they intend to be a top 5 payroll, but he did not say when, and he did not commit to 2026. If that is what he intended to convey, the statement has no real meaning, as a promise without a time commitment is no commitment at all. 2030? 2035?
