Superb article, Lindsay. I didn't realize strikeout avoidance was not particularly characteristic of the Brewers and that patience and BABIP (plus using their speed) are the keys. If the Braves get dumped in the post season, I will be pulling hard for the Brewers - good situational hitting, small market franchise, great minor league system, smart front office.
My son and I use to go to sleep watching Dr. Who on Saturday nights when he was little. Funny how they worked around changing to another actor for the good Doctor every season or so!
Someone ask if Riley was going to set a new record for strikeouts in a season. Last I saw a week or so ago, Riley had 157. The record is Ronald Acuna at 188. At the rate Riley is going, he will beat Acuna.
Let me get past the Dodgers series and I can preview the 40-man decisions, sure! The sense of urgency might not be there this year because we likely won't have a Rule 5 draft due to the lockout
This regular season has been a real grind. WW thought he had an ample bench. But he wasn't counting on 2 IRs and weak-hitting Acuna, two IRs and REALLY weak hitting Sean Murphy. And WW & AA were NOT counting on 2 IRs and a REALLY, REALLY weak-hitting (non-existent?) Kim, Riley leading all mlb starting 3rd basemen in strikeouts (157 at last count) and next-to- last in BA, Profar again (why would you take performance enhancing drugs when you don't perform?), Strider to go down (maybe permanently), etc. I think we have a team running on empty (except for the pitchers) heading INTO the post-season. We lost our MoJo in June. Peaked in June. How do you turn THAT around?

Loved the Dr. Who reference. Haven’t seen that show in a few years, need to get back to it if it’s still on.

Yes, some I liked a lot some not at all.

I know its EARLY,
But i wish you and Taylor would project the 40 man Rule 5 draft;
And go over the money coming off the books this winter..
i'm sorta 50-50 over resigning Iglesias at the moment. They could just make Didier the Closer/8th inning man with Suarez.

Agreed. And, with Suarez on the IL, how does AA not get at least one more stud arm for the pen after he whiffed on getting a stud SP?
Is there a prognosis yet??? Any timeline??? Confusing
I can only assume that, like Schwellenbach, Suarez's 'sore elbow' was worse than first realized and recovery is slow. Not good.
Not good, indeed.
