Between a Cutter, a Splitter, or a Sinker/2-seamer, (1) which pitch do you think would help Strider's repertoire the most? (2)which one would be more realistic for him to add to his repertoire?
I need to sit down and look at it, but I think probably the splitter to get whiffs. It really depends on what he wants it for. The cutter would bridge the fastball and slider well, while the sinker or two seamer would give him movement in the opposite direction and the splitter would be another whiff pitch
Lindsay, answer objectively:

His last start makes me more inclined to think that he'll soon need to add another type of fastball to take hitters off his 4-seamer.
Why not all of them! lol
I think Smoltz' comment is the most important: stop trying to hit 99mph and learn consistent command of 95mph.
All those years the Orioles had dominant pitching, 1960s through 1980s their pitching coach taught 3 things :
1. Work fast
2. Throw strikes
3. Change speeds
His name might have been Joe Altobelli.
At age 73 you forget things.
DSL Braves lost the season opener 12-5. AaBut some of the Bonus Guys started hot
Shorstop Jose Manon had 2 hits, 1 a homer
The good hitting catcher had 2 singles
Edelson Cabral played 2nd, got a hit and a walk
Cruz batted leadoff with a single.
I think there are only 30 teams in the DSL this year. So Braves aren't handicapped by having only one team
