Atlanta finished among MLB’s top 10 in runs, batting average and slugging. Its extreme month-to-month variance revealed a lineup with too few reliable ways to score.
Terrific analysis, Lindsay. I'm really delighted to see the Brewers and Rays in the WS - both teams checking the boxes you described for success. They hit some HR's but they don't depend on them; when they have runners on base they try to hit line drives and avoid chase and strikeouts. "The way the game was meant to be played" as Jeter keeps saying.
Let's say the Braves decide to make Dubon the permanent SS. That would mean we would really need an upgrade in LF (Yaz had his moments, but he is a .230 lifetime hitter and what did he hit this year - that's right,.230. Not good enough). So who would you recommend as a left fielder who would fulfill your list of attributes?
Lindsay… you are on 🔥! Your last couple analysis are the best of the best. I don’t see any other commentators that provide this kind of insight anywhere in the MLB. We’re very lucky your a Braves fan.
I have a couple thoughts in the form of questions…1. Are Braves hitters too predictable? Other team’s pitchers have analytics too and know how to effectively use them. If a hitter has a very defined pattern and rarely deviates they get exploited. Don’t know what data to use, but the eye test tells me this is a problem. And 2. Do the Braves need to be better at advancing runners? I hate to keep picking on Riley, but if he came up with a lead off runner on 2nd… >75% of the time, he should’ve been bunting.
And lastly, your target acquisition defines Profar. Just pitiful the way that acquisition turned out.
Awesome breakdown! Why aren't you sitting at AA's table? I don't know.
I guess the next question is who fits all of those requirements?

Is there somewhere I can see, out of all 208 Braves HRs in 2026, how many were solo shots?
It must be a very large number.
