I don’t understand why the Braves spend precious ST innings and coaching resources on guys like Carrasco rather than focusing their time and energy on their young pitchers, both minor leagues and major league guys. The team will undoubtedly rely on these young pitchers in 2026 for outs. Even if they sign another experienced SP, they’re going to need their young pitching. That’s a given in today’s MLB. Focus on their development and and a plan to land them in the ML and be productive.

Anecdotally, it does feel like maybe they'd rather throw those guys at home than on the road, but I do think you're on to something here with how much they're using guys like him instead of some of the other rotation depth.

I’m reminded of a number of issues from 2025 that seemingly should’ve been better handled in ST. Iggy not being ready to handle closing duties when season started. Waiting on Murphy to go to the minor leagues to unlock Waldrep’s capabilities. Botched promotion of Fuentes. Never ending introduction of guys designated for assignment to handle innings. I hope the Braves have re-thought their approach because last year didn’t work.

Lindsay, I love the NPR! It's a great read and I get up to speed on everything that happened in a quick minute!

Let's not kid ourselves here... EVERYONE wants to see what the radar gun says when Strider makes his start. Yeah, I know about the IVB and and FB "shape" and all that... but for him to get back to being a Cy Young candidate, he'll need to get his velo back, IMO. I

Thanks, John! It's something small to try and help everyone who isn't lucky enough to be able to go to spring training still stay connected with what's happening.
