Been impressed with Ritchie so far this spring. I'm assuming he doesn't make the big club out of camp, but do you think he is the first starter that gets called up this season?
Soooo much to love about JR Richie...not just the 'JR' part. I would not be surprised if another starter goes down that JR makes the opening day roster.
I really like the makeup of the Mateo (sp) guy. Lindsay (if no one is hurt till the start of the season) do you think Mateo could be on the roster?
Thanks so much for these updates. I’m either missing announcements or the team is being stingy with them. Did they confirm Waldrep’s surgery and provode any info? Any news on Fuentes? And looks like Darius Vines is back with the Braves. Did he pitch last yr? Any chance he wil be a contributor? He was a top 20 Braves prospect several years ago.
They have not announced anything on Waldrep, but I sent a note to someone down there to ask Weiss about it tomorrow. Fuentes should be pitching in games soon - he's healed from his shoulder issue, but taking it slow. And on Vines, I don't think they have any plans for him. He's not on the 40-man roster, but it's possible they decide he could be a reliever. They've moved on from him as a potential starter .

Not being on the 40-man roster, he's probably not the first, but he might be the one that never goes back down whenever he does finally get called up

Oh yeah, I think Mateo is the backup SS on Opening Day. He's likely on the roster even without an injury.
