This is an interesting development as far as -- WWAAG? Where Will A A Go? I love your suggestion Lindsey and I love Soler. He would be a graat fit in the club house and would sit on the bench and DH against Lefties...otherwise he would mostly pinch hit. No biggie either way. But since you said, "Soler." AA has a way of only doing things no one else has suggested. AA tends to be very vain in this regard. So it has to be someone from the Korean league!
It's a hard no for me on Soler. He is unplayable in the field. You lose all the DH versatility you talking about liking all off season. Let's not go down that road again.
At some point the flexibility is a luxury we can’t afford. I’m not saying the time to move is now—Baldwin/Murphy works in theory—but we're an injury away from needing a DH quality bat in whatever form it comes.
Now I would need the Angels to cover some of his salary if it’s going to be Soler. But I think he’s a solid bounce back candidate for, I don’t know, $7M or so.
