"Tonight’s the matchup that the Braves aren’t favored to win..."

Lindsay, I'm not sure what sportsbook you use to get your odds... but on Draft Kings the Braves are -122 while Cleveland is +102. So, at least on DK, the Braves are favored.

We use FanDuel, because they're a sponsor of the Bleav podcast network. I have the ability to reach out to them and get additional stats, lines, etc. as needed. I've resisted linking to them from the newsletter, but that's the book I'm using.

FD has the Braves at -116 and Cleveland at -102. So, the Braves are favored on FD, as well.

I was looking at the line being Cleveland -1.5, but a lower negative number is the team being favored so Cleveland at -102 is the favorite there. Bet 100 to win 102 versus bet 100 to win 116 for Atlanta

No. You are clearly not a betting man. To see who is favored you look at the money line. The Braves are -116. You have to bet 116 to win 100. Cleveland is -102. You have to bet 102 to win 100. The Braves are favored.

When you look at the Run Line, the Braves are +1.5 runs at -192, meaning you'd have to bet 192 to win 100 if you took the Braves +1.5. Cleveland is -1.5 at +158 meaning if you take Cleveland -1.5 runs, the book will pay you 158 on your 100 bet.

Braves are favored tonight.

Thanks for the analysis on Messick. I had not paid any attention to him before this series. It struck me that a 25 yo with those pitches would be on the back half of the Braves top 10 prospect list. But as a 25 yo he seems to have learned how to pitch and keep hitters off balance. Looking forward to seeing how Braves go after him.
