So, should we begin to think that this hot start for a few of our guys will "settle back" to their norm soon? And that Riley will never be back to pre-2022 levels (because of the injuries?). And another of AA's rejects-from-others,a 35-year old, .235 career hitter, making $22MM for two years, will not return to that below-normal form? I'd rather think Michael Harris just blossomed under Walt. So did Ozzie, Baldwin, Olsen and that a great pickup by AA in Dubon has felt "wanted" and has blossomed to his full potential. What say ye?
1. The TV folks never really talked about it, but why was Harris sent home on the play where the throw to the plate had him beat by 15 feet?
2. Yastrzemski is a good guy, he works hard, he probably is a little better than an average outfielder, but he's overmatched at the plate. Hoping a lifetime .235 hitter is going to 'blossom' into productivity as the season progresses, seems foolish. Yaz's AB's and Freeman's HR should have given AA a poor night's sleep.
The Harris send was rough - either they trusted the quad or they felt they had no choice because they didn't trust Yaz to get the next hit.
Looking at the high home footage, Harris is still like FIVE steps from reaching the third base bag when Teoscar is releasing the ball on the throw. Bad send by Tommy Watkins.
