Concerning Riley, another errant throw from 3rd last night, too (Matt baled him out). And you're so right; I noticed it too. Riley ALWAYS take the first pitch. It seems to ALWAYS be a strike. The next two or three pitches will be OUT of the zone and Riley will swing - the same as if it was right down the middle of the plate - and not get close to hitting the ball. You think the other teams have noticed Riley's approach to "solving" it?

Since Walt (unlike Snitker) seems to work with his teams issues during the year, doing what's best for the team while also clearly rooting for his guys to play to their potential, when do you think we'll see Walt take the pressure off of Riley? And what are his options? You know full well this is a nightly nightmare to Riley.

You didn't mention Fuentes' contribution - his command of the fastball was a little erratic but his slider made him effective over his two innings.

I had it in the draft - must have cut it for length, but he was briefly mentioned in there

Yay must be intent on making me eat my prior words - I hope he does. But..... he's got a ways to go to really overcome a career BA of .236
