Cuban scout, Mr Romero, reports Braves will sign 6'3" Righthander Hechevarria, age 16 , on January 15 for $450,000. Throws 3 pitches, up to 94 on the fastball
A gpodly sum for pitchers on the Latin market. Expect Big Things here through the years.
I talk about this on the Thursday pod, but yeah - feels like he's just running out of steam here. With the injury last year, he's already pushed his workload about 40 or so innings over what he did in 2024 and so he's likely just worn out and it shows up later in his outings
What are the odds Wentz throws a no hitter against his former team in D'troit? Are those odds better than the odds Kim does not pick up his player option?
REVENGE GAME for Wentz. I think they're too good to get no-hit by Wentz, but there may be a bit more oomph to his stuff this weekend.
On Kim, I do think he's more likely to opt out than he is to pick it up, barring some sort of injury in the final week. Just has so much to gain from his hot month and an incredibly weak shortstop market
Totally agree with the Harris ab as one of the worst displays of stupidity and not having a clue for the whole season. A talented guy and superb center fielder but I'm becoming really doubtful that anyone can correct his lack of discipline.

This willingness to pay for pitchers in IFA is a new development for Atlanta. Wonder what caused them to pivot like this
Their top signee is gonna be the Shortstop Manon for $2 million, or less. Leaves lots of money to fill out a Solid Class of hitters and pitchers.
Oh yeah, do you think Waldrep is simply out of gas at this point in the season?
