I had previously been encouraged by Danny Young maybe being able to fill the lefty RP void but today he looked bad not being able to get through one inning, even struggling against LH hitters.
Dylan Dodd had one of his few bad outings and Didier Fuentes made one bad pitch trying to clean up Dodd's mess, but Dylan Lee was his usual stalwart self. With Suarez' return not known, the pen is spread too thin. If I were AA, I don't know whether I'd prioritize a deal for an SP or an RP - both are badly needed.
Jim Jarvis has been a real spark and I hope he gets most of the SS starts. With his defense he could hit .250 and be great.
Lindsay, why is nobody mentioning Joe Ryan's name for an SP acquisition?
I think the reason no one talks about Ryan is both his market will be big - the low salary and additional control means almost every single buyer will be in on him - and the fact that the Twins have gone 7-3 in their last ten and are tied for the final wild card spot with Seattle (who holds the tiebreaker). There's just no indication that they'll move him, barring a collpase over the next three weeks
