With Hicklen's incredible propensity to get picked off, can he possibly make the post season roster?

I was thinking the same thing. What about that fast kid that scored last night. Does he play in the outfield? Bat righthanded? Let's give him a go for a couple of games here prior to post season.

Go to Tomahawk Take (aug 24th),for analysis of the Braves. 2022 International Signings class.

The first year they were free from the Sanctions.

The Big Money signees, Benitez and Glod, are long gone. 2 Colombian pitchers Didier Fuentes and Davis Polo are either in the Majors or already in AAA.

I am sure there are many Sale accolades to cite, but try this one: by WAR, this was Chris Sale's 7th best season. He has had 6 seasons with more WAR than this one, and he was brilliant in this one. I am sure that mostly has to do with more innings pitched in those other years, but still...6 seasons better than this one.

What a pitcher. It isn't a border-line HOF case any more; it is a "bus could hit him tomorrow" case (but please don't; we need him for the play-offs).

There could be 1 more signing. Braves have $420,000 and there's a 17 year old power hitting Cuban 3rd baseman training in the DR.

I think there's one more team involved, with necessary money.

Or he could wait until the next signing period starting Jan 15 hoping for more money. But there is uncertainty about next yeat if there's a Strike

Lindsay, we are both correct on our assumptions/predictions. #1, I replied to your pre-game info that Cin. pitcher had all the markings of a man the Braves would turn into a Cy Young candidate overnight (i.e, close to 5.00 ERA and twice as many losses as wins). He did, indeed, throttle this "high powered" Braves offense. #2, as you so eloquently stated, not scoring any runs in the first 5, 6 or 7 innings against Cincinnati may allow recovery. But against a playoff team? How many times this year has our offense given Chris Sale ZERO run support in a losing or no-decision effort from (as Mark points out below) one of the greatest pitchers to ever play the game? "Unsustainable" might be an understatement.
