Righty reliever Burkhalter is doing very well at Gwinett.

Wonder if he'll get an audition in Atlanta ?

Or at least get a September call-up ?

Although Dom is not in good shape, can't run, can't throw, can't catch, I truly hope he's not the one who get DFA'd. Clutch hitter. You need those guys in the post-season.

We need your update to the circle of trust.

I'm going to write a bullpen piece soon, maybe even this weekend! I really want to dive into Kinley and determine if he's really cooked beyond belief or just having a Iglesias-like run of terrible homer luck on his slider

Look forward to that!! I’m a broken record, but as much as has been discussed about trading for an SP, a deep (very deep) and trustworthy bullpen will be just as valuable when the playoffs start. I’m particularly curious about Dodd’s advanced stats. Has he reversed his reverse-splits? Can Dodd and Lee cover Braves LH needs?

“ Kinley now has eight home runs allowed in 35.2 innings pitched this season”

“not being able to trust the lower-leverage arms is having noticeable impacts on the bullpen’s workload.”

Which begs the questions Lindsay, Why is Kinley even on this team? Why does Walt Weiss insist on using him? Kinley needs to be released immediately. It’s to the point now that the blame for a Kinley blown lead rests squarely with Weiss. Weiss is proving to be just as bad a manager in his second try as he was in his first.

I mean, Weiss doesn't make the decision to roster him or not. I imagine the decision here for the 8th was Kinley, Elieser Hernandez, or straight to Danny Young and none of those options inspire confidence

I need to write about Kinley
