And one request for the always great Braves Today Scouting Report for the weekend series. Your thoughts on how the Brewers can be 3rd in the MLB in RpG and last in HRs. That’s not supposed to happen.

Fun fact: I'm actually taking this weekend off for some travel, although I was going to write a preview for the weekend to publish tomorrow morning.

I'll throw this in there, but I'm thinking it comes down to a combination of their excellence at base running and their high contact rates, which means they've always got traffic on the bases and a bunch of team speed to bring those guys in.

Enjoy your weekend! Well earned break.

Winning baseball games is easy! All ya' gotta do is throw a 1 hit shut out and you're guaranteed not to lose! Seriously, the offense has got to pick it up. You CAN win baseball games when you only score 2 runs. It's just a helluva lot easier if you score 5 or 6 runs...

If it were me, I'd just win every game by five runs but maybe I'm built different 😤

Beside the top of the order not driving in runs, (somebody please tell Ronald he doesn’t have to try and hit a homer on every at bat) Weis is concerning to me for his unwillingness to remove pitchers (Holmes,Elder & others) when they clearly have gone as far as they should in the game. Today was a good example. Holmes should never gone out for the seventh inning.

Hey Mark, I've seen other arguments that Holmes should not have gone back out for the 7th and I'm curious to hear your thoughts as to why.

(Not saying you're wrong or anything, I just want to talk about this on tomorrow's show and so hearing an explanation and details on why would be helpful)

I feel like Holmes has a tendency to start hanging pitches in the zone especially when he is tired and with his limited innings lately it was time to pull him. Why take a chance on him when you have a small lead and a good bullpen. Weis was more aggressive at removing pitchers at the start of the season in the last couple of months he has seemed to be less so.

I have not always had much praise for Holmes but I humbly tip my hat today. He was every thing you could ask in an SP

Like you, Lindsay, I am really concerned about the situational hitting. To repeatedly have runners in scoring position, especially runner on third with one out, and not score is incredibly bad. Anything but the all-to-common strikeout. Watch the Brewers this weekend, they know how to play this game: "Get 'em on, get 'em over, get 'em in".

Love to see a box score with Fuentes, Lee and Iggy facing 9 batters, allowing 0 H, 0 BB and striking out 7. Fuentes leaves 2 inherited runners on base. They did it efficiently on 39 pitches. That is the definition of bullpen excellence. Maybe the best group in Atlanta Braves history. Especially if Suarez can come back with his sub 1 ERA and Dodd is pitching well.

Holmes, Elder and Perez continue to be the most unfairly maligned group I’ve seen on a ballclub.

Any updates on Lopez, Schwellenbach or Waldrep?

Everybody plays every day. And, everyday the averages go further and further down. The only group getting rest is the pitching staff! And look how good they are doing compared to what we though bout it at the start of the year.

Got egg on my face.

Holmes gets 16 swinging strikes in 6.0 innings.

And yet, somehow, only three strikeouts
