This weekend the Braves pitching allowed 3, 5 and 1 run.
Our offense scored 2, 4 and 2 runs.
Newsflash: We didn't lose 2 of 3 because of the pitching. We lost 2 of 3 because the offense didn't do enough. Yes, we should have won 2-0 on Friday if Iggy doesn't spit the bit. Yes, we saw 3 playoff caliber arms from the Yanks. But these are the kind of pitchers you're going to see in the post-season.
With the Schlittler/Holmes match-up, I was prepared for the worst but Holmes and Kinsley stepped up big time. Also, nice to see Iglesias right the ship. Great game.
I still think we missed a big opportunity to get better at the deadline, and we should have improved the bullpen. This is especially true considering that Suarez may be heading towards TJ. Aren't there some pieces we could have gotten from the Marlins? I have to think that that could have been of some help.
Also, what happened to Karinchak?
I do think it was good that someone did—it might have been you—address Danny Young, who is just not serving us well.
See I thought about "Ghost Runner" back when they first announced this, but there's actually a player there and we always used the ghost runner when we were short a player, just imagining someone running the bases.

"Manfred Man" works (diddy dum diddy do) but I prefer "Unearned Runner."
