A well written and well thought out analysis! These decisions are what GMs, managers, and coaches are paid to do. They should not be left to the “fans”.
Great stuff as always, Lindsay. I do wonder, and I'm not being a troll I swear, if this is example #5,463,550 of a highly analytical and data dependent F.O. who values certainty over risk no matter the payoff being too cautious.
OMG Lindsay! I am truly honored; I love analytics as much as anyone, just wonder if it's starting to erode old school "gut" instincts amongst FO's league wide. I don't think any choice is binary, and I'm hopeful we see some pendulum effects (as we always do) back to some old school scouting in more orgs sooner than later.
Sameness and risk aversion is a great way to avoid fault, and always a surefire way to miss out on great opportunities to boot.
Does anyone know which fields at the Braves complex will be used for the minor league exhibition games today (Saturday)? And, if the games will be open to the public.
Will the games be on Fields 4-7, which are accessible from the Green Lot, or on Fields 2 & 3, which may have to be accessed from Playmore Road?
FYI, the minor league game today was on field 3, and was open to the public. But you have to walk about 300 yards, from the Green Lot. (And you can't take in chairs or umbrellas.) There is limited shade.

Hey Shaun, I ended up reading this comment on Monday's pod because I think it's a great point that I'll probably dive into sometime soon.

Would Fuentes qualify for Prospect Promotion Incentive?
He is NOT on two of the lists, if I remember correctly, but I'll check
Good stuff, as usual.

Thanks.
Thanks, Steve!
I don't know off the top of my head, but I texted a prospect who might (should?) know. I'll update you if he gets back to me soon
