Excellent balanced analysis. The next 2 questions are: 1. How much help can Ritchie, Fuentes, Braun, et al provide? 2. How much will an additional starter cost? The projected contracts for the top FAs are an elbow tweak away from potential multi-year financial disasters. Can AA swing a trade without giving up important pieces? (Salary-dump? Guy they can fix?). Unfortunately, no easy answers.

I've got some names on "guys they can fix" that I want to write up sometime this week. I do think he'll be more active on the trade front than on signing a guy, though, just based on how he worded it in that press conference

Good article. For Braves' pitching, the 'IFS' outweigh the reasons for optimism. Yeah, IF all 5 injured pitchers came back 100% healthy for 6 months the outlook would be fun, but I think the likelihood of all 5 doing this is <5%. I dread the reports we've become accustomed to out of Spring Training or two months into the season: "So and So is placed on the IL - surgery may be necessary". I vote for going all in for someone like Ranger Suarez. But this is unlikely to happen because McGuirk will want to "keep our powder dry" for more real estate ventures.

Im hesitant on Ranger simply because I'm worried how he will age - he's barely throwing 90 mph as is and I'm trying to avoid another Dallas Keuchel scenario

Another Keuchel would be a step in the wrong direction. Suarez knows how to pitch and he's been consistently effective for several years. Two more benefits: 1) the Phillies would really miss him, especially if Wheeler is not the same and 2) the Braves would have a chance at 3 or 4 fewer losses because Suarez wouldn't be pitching against them. He owns Atlanta.

What about Bieber? He's been impressive in the WS.

Only one Brave made a big impression in the Arizona Fall League.

Luke Sinnard the 6' 8" righthander from Indiana did really well. Still coming off his 2024 Tommy John. 3rd round pick in 2024. The coaches helped him improve his 4 seamer.

Lets hope the Dodgers wrap this thing up in LA so we can start the Offseason.

Lindsay thinks they have $20-60 million dollars to spend, on mostly pitching.
