You asked for suggestions for topics of discussion. Here's mine: Compare the Braves' scouting department/system to other teams. This might include Number of Scouts Employed; total Money Designated for Scouting; ratio of 'Bad' Signings (presumably resulting from scouting recommendations) to 'Good' Signings over, say past four years; etc.
Great stuff Lindsay. More arms the better. There will be injuries. BTW, I spit my coffee out when you used (old) for Jesse. Very technical!! Thanks for the morning LOL.
That's a bit I lifted from Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, who once listed Tim Duncan's reason for missing a game as "DNP-Old," and I've always wanted to sneak it into a story.
Father Time is undefeated, unfortunately, and appeared to catch up to Uncle Jesse in 2025 (and really late in 2024, if we're being honest - a first half 1.74 became a 2nd half 5.73)
Another source , Mr Romero, listed next weeks International signees and expected bonuses.
It seemed disappointing and a little light. When i totaled the bonuses the Braves still have about $2 million to spend before December 15. They must have their eye on someone not yet signable.
On paper, a better group than the Braves had heading into ST last year. Do you see the possibility of Elder being the long-inning / spot starter? (Assuming everyone is healthy and Waldrep, Holmes, or one of the minor-leaguers have fantastic Springs). How does Bryce stack up against the other options for that role?
That's where I really struggle, because we don't really have any sort of track record of Bryce as a reliever. He's made one career MLB relief appearance, pitching the final three innings of a game his rookie year after being called back up midseason, and then right back to the rotation so I don't really know what a reliever bump looks like for him.
When in doubt, I'm partial to sticking guys in roles they're comfortable with, but I feel like the other options (Wentz, Suarez) have a better ability to get swing and miss versus Elder, as his only real whiff pitch is the slider, and it's not really that great.

Possibly an asian teenager. Or a Cuban teenager.
