I thought by now there would be more Andrew Miller 2016 Indians/Guardians type guys in MLB; highly skilled pitchers you can use for 2-3 innings in the middle innings if/when the game is still on the line.

If the rational for guys with great stuff not starting is they do not have either the stamina or pitch variety to survive the second time through the order, there still can be a valuable place for them for 2-3 innings in the middle, especially since starters only go 5 or 6 innings now.

I THINK the Braves now pick 9th, 26th , and 49th. Its 6:34pm Tuesday after the Lottery.

I read somewhere the Braves could have fallen to 15th !!!!

So now i'm not so mad they fell to 9th.

Wrong again, i think. Its 9th, 26th, and 46th.

I've got 9, 26, and 48, which I confirmed with the league.

I'm shocked the 40 man roster is full. I thought for sure they had a Rule 5 target as they left Burkhalter unprotected.

So some of those free agent relievers signed to minor leagie contracts made the 40 man roster ?

No, it's the waiver claims. By rule, those guys are put on the 40-man roster when you claim them

So, it seems there is a growing mood for 'making do' with what we've got for pitching. With all due respect, can we really believe Payamps, Bummer, and Dodd will produce anything but another revolving door of DFA tryouts? If we're not going to spend some real money on pitching, what are your expectations for money being invested elsewhere? I certainly haven't heard anything encouraging about getting Kim at a 'reasonable' price.
