Ronald should be benched for a game or two. He needs perspective. Every at bat he’s trying to hit home runs on every swing. His frustration level rises with each strikeout.
Great data deep dive. I assume the Braves' coaches have the same data and conclusions. The question is, how do you correct this and would he even listen if given suggestions for change. (Plays like his being deec'd by Ohtani two nights ago make me wonder).
It's amazing how two proven stars like Acuna and Riley seem to have markedly declined this year. Both have had injuries but I would think the 'rust' of those would have begun to subside by now. I used to think Riley's kryptonite was always the low-and-away sweeper (still is) but it's also the high 4seamer. He just can't make contact. I think even Chipper has come to just shake his head.
Years of "running his own show" with Snit not taking any authority has created a spoiled child mentalily that thinks of no one but himself. He doesn't hussle, doesn't think "baseball" when on the field (or in using ABS). He will continue this "up a week/down a month" play until he is finally written off as "injured to death".
Harsh words but most of them justified. After his gaff with Ohtani's fake two nights ago, I would really like to know if Weiss or any of the other coaches took him aside to deal with his lack of respect for the right way to play the game.
Since WW already commented about not mentioning his unproductive use of ABS to a superstar, I’d guess no one says anything except “YES SIR” and “Thank you” to him.
I remember when Andruw Jones broke in and during a Spring Training game did not hustle after a fly ball. Bobby Cox immediately sent in a replacement, clearly sending a message. Later, Cox replied, "If you don't want to play, go home". The rest of the team heartily agreed with Cox and, later, Jones admitted he had gotten the message (and I don't think there was ever another problem with Jones not hustling).
Yes, the game has changed. Run by spoiled from little league up multi-millionaires who can say, "You don't like it? Ok. I'll go elsewhere." And then they go on strike. The integrity of the game has been slashed like a bagman at a mafia convention.

Looking at yesterday's Minors :
The thing that stood out was Davis Polo was promoted to Rome and had a successful debut.
His game scores remind me of Blazin Bryce.
I might rename him "Blazin Davis"
I think he should be on Top 30 li
Came back from Surgery.
Hope Raven Antonio comes back in '27.
He's the Real Deal, throwing in the upper 90s.

Wow - I didn't know Weiss had said that. I am a Weiss fan but that is really disappointing. Spoiled Child is an accurate label.
