This is one of the rare situations where the backend of the Padres bullpen is just as good (if not a half a tick better than) the Braves.

So, if we want to win this game, we need to get it done vs their starter, because, like the Braves, the backend of their bullpen is pretty much nails.

I got you. That’s fair. I feel like King has either totally shut us down or we have raked off him. Hopefully the latter tonight

Braves have the best bullpen in baseball. Miller might be better than Iggy but you’d be hard pressed to find 3 better than Iggy, Suarez and Lee.

While I don't disagree, my point was this is one of the very few occasions where the Braves do not have a decided advantage in the bullpen. Obviously, you don't want to have to be coming from behind vs. Miller. He is a flat out stud.

Get your runs off the starter was the message.

As you can see from the ERA's, there isn't much to choose from between the Braves and the Padres.

The National League bullpen ERAs are as follows for the 2026 season:

1. Atlanta Braves: 3.21 ERA

2. San Diego Padres: 3.48 ERA

3. Los Angeles Dodgers: 3.65 ERA

4. New York Mets: 3.82 ERA

5. Philadelphia Phillies: 4.10 ERA
