Just read Dodd is activated and Perez is DFA’ed. I have to believe Suarez follows Perez when Strider is activated. So… does that mean Fuentes becomes 5th starter until Strider is back? Either way… like the idea of Fuentes and maybe Ritchie in the Braves sooner rather than later.
I’m surprised too that the Braves didn’t bring up a pitcher. Suarez looks completely unreliable, but maybe coaches see something I don’t. After listening to your discussion, I think the best answer is to bring up Furentes and commit to use him for 3-4 inning stints every 4th - 6th day. That approach shouldn’t be a challenge especially this early in the season. “Fuentes getting ready in the bullpen to take over in the 6th” sounds a lot better than “Suarez…”.
"José Suarez is going to need to be up and available today."
Lindsay, you DO realize this DOES NOT endear you to Braves Nation, right? LOL
I do, but I just don't really see what other option they have if they need a long man. Chris Sale can make this entire thing moot, though.

They can add Fuentes as soon as Wednesday and let him start then, hold him for Friday in Philly, or skip the 5th guy until next week on Washington.
I'll talk more about it on the podcast tomorrow
