First time posting. I am in total agreement with Elder being part of the rotation. While last was forgettable at best, Elder was there to take the ball every time his turn came up. He can be counted on.

Happy to have you, Mark! Thanks for subscribing.

Yeah, the ability to post every fifth day with no injury concerns is underrated and leaning on that to get the postseason guys to October is the best outcome, provided he can be a bit more consistent.

RESPECT YOUR ELDER!!!

I genuinely appreciate Bryce Elder and everything he’s already given this team. I’ve got a strange affection for him, and honestly, he’s nowhere near appreciated enough by the fan base.

Even if—and it’s a big if—the new pitching coach doesn’t magically fix everything, Elder holding down the No. 5 spot for the first half of the season still matters. There’s real value in stability. Letting him take the ball every fifth day helps protect and develop the younger arms without rushing anyone into roles they’re not ready for.

But wouldn’t it be perfectly Braves-appropriate if the adjustment does click? If Elder quietly unlocks something, stops being “just serviceable,” and turns into a legit No. 3 starter—while pitching out of the five spot?

Three more years of a reliable, competitive Bryce Elder? That’s not nostalgia—that’s roster construction done right.

Respect your Elder.

The upside is just so great that they've gotta keep trying to raise the floor a bit here. If you can make those 6-8 run outings into 4-5 run, or even just make them happen less often, as you said, you've got a #3 starter that's cost-controlled for multiple seasons.

Good job explaining the VALUE of the #26 pick is the MONEY added to your draft pool. Not the history of players drafted 26th.

We understand the underslot/overslot way A.A. drafts. The general public wants to sign a Type A free agent pitcher. To hell with the consequences.. Seems like they want Framber Valdez.

I agree; but for a simpler reason. He seems to be the only guy who can make it thru a season without IR! Geez, I never thought I'd ever need to admit that.
