I'm glad you didn't include Peralta - he might add depth for the end of the regular season but I don't think he would add anything for the post season. What about Skubal? I realize he might end up being a rental, AA would have to deal with Boras, and the price would be tremendous, but .... the thought of Sale and Skubal in the post season is pretty exciting. Regardless whether the Braves go after him, I bet the Dodgers will. Seeing Freddie get his third ring in a row would be hard to swallow.
Great research! The list of names they SHOULD NOT go after is a lot longer. You see other Braves commentators bringing up names that would be absurd. Bruce mentions Peralta and he is near the top of that list. There is a host of others names. Doing a deal for an SP, just for the sake of doing something would be a really bad idea (Soriano, Ray, Wacha, et al.). I don’t think Alex will do that. He held firm in the spring to not sign an FA SP, all of whom turned out to be bad deals.
