With the news of Walt Weiss as the new manager (which I think is very good choice) it will be interesting to see his take on the SS issue. Weiss was a superb fielder, decent put-the-ball-in-play hitter. Allen is a great fielder, frustratingly weak hitter - but, if Albies can regain some of his old offense, Weiss might think carrying Allen in the 9th hole would be ok. Making a serious effort to sign Kim would be good but I'd hate to see his contract eliminate the signing of a top end starting pitcher and some bullpen help.
